  • Studio Leadership and Integration – Served on the studio’s core stakeholder group, led art direction for Austin video teams, managed 7 direct and 10 indirect reports, and helped integrate three teams into a ~100-person studio with shared processes, documentation, onboarding and culture.
  • AI Workflow Maturation – Refined earlier AI experiments into the “Start with Art” methodology, keeping artists in control while accelerating exploration and preproduction within quality, reproducibility, authorship and legal constraints..
  • Merger Integration – Served as an Art and creative-operations SME during the Everi-IGT integration, comparing roles, tools and workflows across Unity, Technical Art, asset and font management, cabinet technologies and AI.

  • Art Direction and Scale – Directed two game-art teams across original and licensed IP, premium, HHR, VLT/multigame, porting and Class III work; at peak led 10 direct reports and 20 total contributors, including up to four Art Leads.
  • Unity for Artists – Spearheaded art-side Unity adoption, helping define workflows and the Technical Artist role while building a 10-part “Unity for Artists” curriculum, training tasks, troubleshooting resources and peer-led workshops used across studios.
  • AI Workflow Development – Explored and tested emerging AI tools across game ideation and preproduction, developing practical methods for incorporating them into established artist workflows while evaluating quality, reproducibility and production usefulness.
  • Preproduction – Built a repeatable art preproduction process from theme exploration and bluelines through value and color studies, storyboards, approvals and Jira-ready backlogs, giving Art, Game Design and Production a clearer shared path into development and surfacing direction changes earlier.
  • Visual Quality – Raised visual quality across two studios, stepping into in-flight titles that needed stronger art direction and guiding visual resets, theme authenticity, readability, animation and VFX, and final polish.
  • People Development – Coached first-time and veteran leads, artists and Technical Artists through stretch assignments, candid feedback, increasing ownership, training and mentorship; supported promotions and strengthened the studio leadership bench.
  • Game Ideas – Created a Teams and Lists platform that opened game pitching and voting to any discipline; top concepts advanced to a multi-studio showcase, with several later entering game development.
  • Intuicode Integration – Helped lead the former Intuicode team’s integration into Everi, building a living onboarding and wiki resource covering tools, workflows, repositories, software and key organizational knowledge.

  • Quality and Scale – Elevated visual quality to competitive casino-market standards while helping quadruple annual production from roughly 2-3 games to 10; art-directed 40+ HHR titles during the studio’s growth.
  • Studio Growth – Helped grow the team to 3x its original size, hiring and onboarding talent, training artists in industry-standard game pipelines and raising capability through coaching, research and stretch assignments.
  • Flash to Unity – Led the art-side transition from Flash to Unity, defining in-house workflows, training materials, sandbox builds and experimental projects that helped the team adopt the new environment.
  • Creative and Production Leadership – Owned visual direction while running reviews, production coordination, outsourcing, performance reviews; continued contributing illustration and animation on roughly one in five titles.
    Acquisition Readiness – Guided the studio through evolving production practices, remote COVID operations and Everi’s acquisition, building the capability and maturity to meet Everi’s quality and production expectations; the team was retained and successfully integrated.

  • Principal Artist – Provided concept art, illustration, animation, and VFX on games, supporting them from start to finish.
  • Rapid Growth – Promoted from Artist II to Artist III (Senior) within the first year while progressing from new to After Effects to the studio’s go-to animation resource; shared techniques, presets and training with peers and new hires.
  • Unity Pioneer – Worked on a small artist/dev team on AGS’s first Unity title, helping test and define artist workflows.
  • Systems and Mentorship – Partnered with IT to build a networked render farm from available hardware for After Effects and 3D workflows; also helped interview, onboard and mentor new artists.

  • Client Work – Delivered game art, illustration, motion design, VFX and animation for indie and commercial clients, including Mattel; established art direction and recruited other artists for larger projects.
  • Business Operations – Managed the full freelance business cycle, including marketing, proposals, estimates, contracts, scheduling, client communication, invoicing and delivery.

Feb 2009 – Mar 2012 | China

  • Teaching and Team Development – Promoted from EFL Teacher to Assistant Director after one year; trained, evaluated and supported 100+ foreign teachers annually in lesson planning, classroom management and teaching across age groups, while continuing to teach in settings ranging from small groups to large public-school classes.
  • Cross-Cultural Operations – Traveled across China to support partner schools, fill urgent teaching needs and meet with school officials on staffing and program delivery; authored and illustrated the Non-Stop Talking textbook series used in 100+ schools and won 1st Prize in a Guangxi Province English teaching competition.

  • Built and expanded a formal art preproduction system, from early theme exploration and visual development through approvals, storyboards, and production-ready Jira backlogs.
  • Led development of reusable art standards, templates, and Unity-ready components to improve consistency and scalability across teams.
  • Helped integrate multiple teams into the roughly 100-person Fat Cat Studio, contributing shared onboarding, documentation, working agreements, and studio identity.
